Why this page exists
Two reasons. First, residents who want to walk with us can find us without a phone call. Second, journalists and party observers can verify that the padayatra is actually happening — we're publishing the trail in real time, not retroactively.
Privacy: we share approximate position only (village-level), and we never publish names of walkers without consent. Photos and voices are only published with the subject's permission.
How it works
- One volunteer with a phone becomes the day's "trail recorder".
- They tap a button every 30 minutes — the form submits current GPS to a Cloudflare Worker.
- Worker writes to D1; this page reads from D1 and auto-refreshes.
- Issues collected during the day are added to the issues board at end-of-day.
Implementation note: this is a low-cost setup using a single phone per walking day. No fancy IoT, no satellite uplink. If the trail recorder's phone runs out of battery, the page will show the last known position with a "last updated 14:32 IST" stamp. We will be transparent about gaps.
